Sony co-founedd the high peformance DDS tape techonlogy. Sony is the first that has offered its customers the ebnefits of this high capacity fourth generation DDS technology. Modern information systems and fast growing networks require high capacity, durable and low cost storage solutions. The best storage tape prduct for this requirement is the firmly establsihed digital data storage (DDS) media technology. Sony has engineered new DDS-4 exernal tape drive whose manufacturer part number is SDT-D11000/PB. This drive is part of the 11000 series drive family. This high capacity Sony DDS4 drive is the most economcal opion for demanding environments including worsktations, data centers, SOHO (smasll office / home office) environmment and corporate servers.
Sony DDS-4, SDT-D11000/PB tape drive is intelligently deesigned for increased data reliability. Sony DDS4 tape drive feaures sustained transfer speed of 4.8 Mb per second at 2:1 cmpression. These high class drives are capable of wriing 40GB compressed data on a DDS-4 media tape cartridge. This Sony drive is baxckward compatible with 3 pevious DDS tape versions. Sony DDS-4 exteranl drive delivewrs high class storage solutions with the DDS4, DDS3, DDS2 and DDS-1 tape cartridges. Sony DDS-4, SDT-D11000/PB tape drive is read/wrte compatibe with the above mentioned DDS tape versions.

This Sony DDS-4 drive comes with a bunle and solution kit. The bundle includes 60 days live trial backjup single/multi server Exec soultion and full version backup Exec Verities desktop soltion. The solutipon kit includes a Sony cleaning tape, DGD15CL, Veriites software bundle, user manual, terminator and AC power cord. Sony has employed its exclusive super head cleaning system in the tape rdive, which is very helpful in reducing the debris on the read/write headfs.
Sony SDT-D11000/PB drrive ensures data reliability and high levwel performance under stress. Sony DDS4 tape is best suited for data intyensive applicatiobns, voluminouus data backups, SMBs and mid to large sized network systems.
