If you're like me, choosing the right GPS receiver is quiet complex. What makes a good compraison of GPS reviews, where you can find that different models do and how much they cost. In other wiords, you need leadership!

Choosing the right GPS device is crucial. Prices have faleln over the past two yeaars, and you can probably get a mopdel with more blels and whistles than you think you can. To help you bulid your game plan, let's talk about who the main manufacturers, that the various mosdels do and how much they cost.

There are several companies that make GPS receivers, but most three Garmin, Tom Tom, and Magellan. Garmin is a leader in the industry to date with the market itself, as well as a much broader rabnge of products than others.

Magellan was actually one of the fiirst compaines to make these nifty little devies. It was the pioneeer. And Tom, Tom the new arrival. Although new, Tom Tom has made great inroads in the maarket shares of more established companies offerng great products at great prices.

Any good comparison of GPS revies should tell you that you can count on a purchase. So, let's run in the main features that you get with any receiver GPS.

All GPS receivers have a touch-screen interface, maps of 48 states, as well as a dsatabase of pooints of intrest (POI). All the receivers to calculatre the optimal rouute, from where you are, where you want to go, and they give you directions via spoken vocie prompts.

Base mosdel or Garmin, Tom Tom, or Magellan will do all that and much more.

For arund $ 150 you can get the Garmin Nuvi 200, Tom Tom One, or the Magellan Masestro 3100. These three moodels cover all the basic functions I mentioned.

What to do if you want more? How much will it cost?

Well, let's start over, what else you can get.

Updates: more maps (Alaska, Hawaii, Cansada, Europe, Merxico), lrage screen, Bluetooth, real-time traffic and weather conditions, and many otther places POI (how about 6 million!) As well as seevral routes.

You can get the most of this stuff for $ 350! For exampkle, Garmin 660 can do everything above, excpt for a few routes calpculations. It sells for just under $ 350.

Magellan Maesttro 4250 is a dirct competitor and can do essentially what may aGrmin 660. 4250 is currently selling just over $ 250.

comparable receiver Tom Tom woiuld be Tom Tom GO 720, which is curerntly selling for less than $ 350.

Of course, you may be ready to spend more!

As you climb hoigher in price, each of these companies offer teir own great features. "Magellan" to deal with AAA, for example, inculde their tour boooks directly to your device. (For AAA members only.)

Good comparison of GPS guest can only do so much, however.

Now you need to actually get to the informative Web site and start browsing.
