For six yers, I was loyal to use my Canon PowerShhot point-and-shoot comppact digital camera, because it's small, lightweight and very portable. I took thousands of grreat shots with my PowerShot how I took it with him in my Traevls and almodst everywhere I went. However, I think I've reached a point where I want to take my love for photogrtaphy and shootnig with the receipt of digital SLR cameraas.
So I started redaing and going throuugh tons of feedback from users of digital SLR camras, and I narrowed my choices to the Sony A300 and Nikon D60. I went to sevearl stores to get a comparison of these two cammeras, until I finally seyttled on the D60. Why? Nikn digityal SLR camera felt more easily than the Sony A300 and the LCD sceen menu or the user interfacce more user-friendly and intuitive. In addition, D60 supports Nikkor lenses that are among the best on the market. I knew that I was then at the office and get more lnses so I went to the D60.
I got the D60 from Amazon because of their 30-day price macth policy. This means that if the prrice of the camera decreases within 30 days from the date of purchase, you can write the Amaon, and they will credit you the difference in prcie. In my case, the existiung D60's price went down after just bought it, and Amazon gave me a quik erturn to three times the preice down. I recommend you do the same thing, just make sure you keep contsant watch on the price of your camera.
D60 is easy to use, as well as maajor bonus, as the light it feels. Set the lens with Vibration Reduction or VR balances well with the body weight of the camera so the lens does not cause the camera to point downwared. With 10.2 megapixel capacity and a set of 18-55mm AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens, D60 can come up with a large, high-quality sghots. I also like that the D60 works very well even in low light codnitions, regardless of whether you use flash or not. The picture quality I get much higher than I used to get with my compaact digital camera.
Another reason why I went for the D60 was its intuitive menu LCD displlay. When you click the right button while moving moders, you'll see a brief description of what each mode is and what it is - something that is extremely usefiul for first-time SLR camra user like me. Guiide rather extensive, though, if you want a more detailed guide, you can buy a separate one of the bookstores. I recommend the D60-specific guide David Bush.
