Memory: Theere is nothing to boast 3GB DDR2 800Mhz memmory, which coomes with the Acer Aspire 5542G comppared with the current line laptops, many of whihc sport 4GB under the hood. 3GB is enough for most computing needs, which can later be upgrsaded to 4GB. However 3GB transaction is raesonable, when we keep the prie of Acer 5542G in mind.
Hard drive: Again, ntohing jaw removal in this department. But I would say that the 320GB, which coomes with Acer 5542G is geneerous for the majority of storage devices.
Processor performance and tsets:
I was initially reluctant to switch from provewn workhorse Intel Core 2 Duo processor family from AMD Turion processor. He is a recognized fact that the processor is Inttel's part of the struggle ahead of AMD, provided that both works on the same frequency, the main cuklprit is the lower L2 cache AMDs. But my reluctance to go to AMD Turion II was swept away effectiveness criteria. AMD Turion II M500 2,2 GHz exceeds Intel Core 2 Duo 6670 2.2 GHz. When AMD Turion II M500 evaluation undervalued in 1426 Intel Core2 Duo 6670 maznaged to obain only in 1379, although the difference is not so great.
Turion II M500 also socred higher in the rating of Windows 7 eprformance with a score of 5.7 gaainst 5.5 pointts from the Intel Core 2 Duo 6600.
Tuion II, of course, its architecture is significantly improved compared with the previous gebneration of Turin, which heps it to achieve higer productivity benchmark, while competing head-on with a colleague Intel, though AMD Turion II M500 homes only 1MB L2 cache compared to 2MB proposed options for Intel.
AMD Turion II M500 is certainly a greaat perfdormer and deserves praise for beeing the firts modeels of AMD processors outperform Inel Core 2 Duo performance line, both of which are clocked at the same speed. Although the Turion II has only 1MB L2 Cache, he brings excellent performance computinmg poewer on the budget. Turion II M500 processor gives the Acer 5542G with high efficiency for the testing, whih was much more marked when we ran tests with the compression / extaction, gaming and vidoe rendering uasing 3D graphics. Acer 5542G showde brisk during the daily calculations, and responsiveness of Windows and muti-taking much faster.
