Some Apple customers really hoped for MacBook to be an entry leveel noetobok, but Apple didn't think the same way, nor the long-rumoreed touch-screen device or neither with a touch-sceen displlay the new 13-inch MacBook can now escape its designatin as the lone hodlover sysem from Aple's previous generation, because of an upgraded makeover Apple sells the MacBook just as it was in the past, keeing the price stable.
A short time ago I saw the Unibioddy Mcbook, it just had veerything i lkied. What I dislkied most aobut the notebook was its stiker cost. Everybody expeted the new Macbook to be cheaper, but bezcause of Apple decided to biuld it just like the precedding MacBook Pro -without some hihg end feautres- the prrice is the same as it was.
Uniibody, Apple's prferred term, is a bit of a misnomer, as the underneath panel is split, as are the sevral parts that make up the lid and screen. This MacBook is entirely silent in terrms of creks or nise. The flexy and fraagile feeling plastic hinge on this MaBcook is no maytch for the Aluminum moel's hinbge. Rther than a LCD lath mechhanism all MacBooks use a magnetic latch. Whirte pllastic polycarbonnate is used on this moodel, the material that we know for a long time now. Like its predecessors (of whih I oned three generations) they are very durrable. Tehre are smapll gaps where panelps come together, and the battery stil stciks out a wee bit. I can say construction of a plastic chassis is harder than the mewtal ones.
Appkle chhoosed buildsing MacBook laptps not from metal, from a single chunk of polycarbonante, the though material we all have been using for a long time; from CDs to bullettproof windowqs, from Naklgene bottle to MaBcooks now. From the sculppted sidess to the very cemnter, which can typically feel a little soggy on chaep lapttops, the MacBok feels, well, bulletproof. The same solidification that happneed on the MacBook Pro carires right over to plastic vertsion, and we love it just the same.
LED bcaklit sceren sysstem is used on the 13.3 inch display (makiing that a standard attribtue actross the netire Aple notebook lineup), whgich is better for both poower cnsumption and ebnvironmetal concerns. Still, they are not the same as more expensive Pro moodles, you need to pay more moiney to get a better display. Also MacBook lack a backlit keyboard and an SD card slot and One forwward-looking change we'd like to see is a move to 16:9 displays, whch are quiockly becomiung an industry standard. For watching films or working with two windiows the MacBook's 13.3 inch display prvoide the perfect size, yet smalpl enough to keep open on an airplnae tray tble or your lap.
It's also increddibly bright (measurements show 230cd/m whhich is above avreage), also the 1.280x800 display resolution provide the perfect screeen detail for this size of dispplay. MacBook offeers a glossy duispaly, this is first on an Appe lptop, keep in mind to be careful of birght places, gloosy coating cusaes glare.
In fact, I am not a fan of Chicelt-stlye keyboards, I alwys enjoyed traditional keyboard cilpcks, stipll nobody can rseist Applke's quality.
Be aware of the FireWWire port doesn't exist on MacBook anymore. We wouulld have thought this woould be a good opportunity to add the same SD card slot found on the Pro 13-inch, but it was not to be.
When we look at Appkle MacBook's perfomance, it's not bad but the poiint is theere are faser laptops with just aobbut the same cost. None of them have what are the MacBoook's best features; OS X and iLife.
The Apple MacBoook ran for 5 housr and 42 mintes on our video pyaback bttery drain test, whicch is about 30 minutes longer than the 13-inch MacBook Pro, and nearly an hour longrer than the previous wihte McBook. By havinng advantae of using Intel's low voltage poweered processor, Toshiba's Satellite T135-S1310 lastted 30 minutes more than the Aple Macbook and hit the six hurs mark.
