A Yorkie Bichon mix may also sound a bit strange in the beginning, but with numerous cross bred dogs popping up - both intentional and unintentional - there’s actually nothing incredible regarding a Yorkie Bichon mix dog cropping up over time. What this implies for impending dog owners, is something completely different of course.
If you’re contemplating receiving a Yorkie Bichon mix puppy but are unsure whether you would like one, and much more importantly are not sure what the mixed puppy will wind up like, well, there’s just one thing to say: you’re not alone. No one may perfectly predict what a mixed breed dog will turn out to be like, and it is true in all cases of mixed breed, or cross bred dogs.
To state the obvious, there’s a chance that the dogs could turn out to be predominantly like their Yorkie father/mother, or like their Bichon Frise mother/father. Not like the Puggle mixed breed dog, for the Yorkie Bichon mix to be considered pure, the parents do not have to be specifically of one breed, i.e. you do not need to have a Bichon Frise mother and a Yorkie father, or vice versa. It can be either mix, as long as the parents themselves are pure bred dogs.
And that is where it may at times become tricky when cross breeding dogs. As no one dog breeder will necessarily have the entire lineage of a dog going back hundreds of years, it may be hard to know for certain whether the origin of the parents themselves have been cross bred at any point in time. Every now and then genetic traits might hide themselves for some generations, and might instead choose to surface at this point when the dog breeders are going to cross breed the dogs.
The resultant dog can be among the cutest things that you have ever seen, or it can be a mishmash of odds and ends. This however is incredibly rare in good breeding programs, and if you would like a fantastic Yorkie Bichon mix then probably you're going to get a good combination of a Yorkie Bichon mix.
What then are the traits of this type of dog, never mind the features of your dog? Well, regrettably that too will not be as easy to tell in advance and nearly all owners must wait to see what their Yorkie Bichon mix puppy grows up into: a predominantly Yorkie mix dog, or a predominantly Bichon mix dog. Whatever you do end up with though, you can be assured that you will get a loving and friendly dog who is very loyal to you, and you in fact couldn't ask for any more than that can you? If you are looking for a dog with a large personality in a cute little bundle you'd need to go a long way to unearth a better choice than a Yorkie Bichon mix.
