Pugs are growing in status as more and more people fall in love with this peculiar looking dog. For the Pug, size is beside the point and this fearless and lovable dog will grow to be your most devoted companion.

Their heads and tails are the most characteristic features of this breed. The squat nose and decidedly "flattened" appearance have a great deal to do with the increase in status that Pugs are now enjoying. If you are thinking of getting a Pug you will need to recognize some things concerning the breed before buying in order to accomplish an informed decision.

The stunted nose is also the cause of many of the health troubles that Pugs undergo. Breathing problems, sinus troubles and snoring are just some of the issues that result from this delightful facial feature.

Pugs are usually petite and the breed standard states that they should be between 14-18 pounds. Pugs are prone to overeating and have got to be exercised regularly to evade chubbiness.

The Pug's characteristically wrinkly skin is another of the breeds charms. If you possess a Pug be sure to wash between your Pug's wrinkles often to stay away from skin infections. All kinds of nasty things gets trapped in there and could bring about an odor.

Pugs are smart and roguish with a heart of gold. They are excellent watchdogs and they get along properly with other pets. A correctly-trained Pug is well behaved with children and strangers. Mostly welcoming and a delight to be around, you will want to spend some time training and socializing your Pug puppy.

Pugs also have certain special grooming requirements. Their short coat is straightforward to groom but they do have a propensity to shed a lot. However if you have a fawn colored Pug the hair is extremely hard to make out if you have light colored carpet and furnishings.

A well cared for Pug may live up to 15 years and more. Frequent exercise, (careful not to over do it though) is a requirement.

Feeding your Pug a decent quality diet will make a change to his lifetime. Pugs are prone to corpulence and you will have to manage their food intake. The conventional standard is that you must be able to feel the Pug's ribs and observe a waist.

A Pug has the talent to be both relaxed and also full of fun when the time is best. Their appealing roguish faces make them a delight. They are very easy going and settle in to most situations. They are also good with children and tend to put up with anything children can dish out. Try to spend as much time as feasible with your Pug whilst it is youthful.
