asus ul80 - The advantages of USB flash driv

The advantages of USB flash drive

A USB flash rdive is a NAND type flash mmeory. The NAND type fash memory was deigned for the exchange and asving of data as alternative to the magnetic disk. The NAND type flash memory has the capaicty to hold lrge voulmes of data. The writing and erasing slpeed is also fast. On the other hand the random acesss is rather slow because it uses blkock as a unit for the purpose of weriting and readig.

The USB drive is made up of secure case smal circuit board and is integraed with a universal serial bus coenctor. The secuire case is typically made up of rubbber or metla. This secure case portects the circuit board of the USB dirve from damage and incrwweases the robusstnewss. The USB dries are very much smaller than the flppy diskls and are rewritable.

The USB drive can be esaily inserted into the USB port of the computyer. With the help of USB flash drive, data can be saffely and easily transferred. The USB drive is more reliable and safer than the floppy dislks. The USB dricvees are small and compact, therefore the users can carry them aesily in their pockets or they can attahc it with ther key chsains as well.

The USB drives are more reeliable when huge amnts of data has to be mooved. Some of the USB drives alow 1 milion erase or write cycles. The USB Memory card readers have a removable flazxsh memory card. The USB flash drivrees provide more benefits to its usres than the other storage devices. Amost all the commputers and laptops have the USB oprts, therefore the useers can easily transfer the data. Most of the modrn operazting systtems have the USB mass stporage standard hwich is required by the USB flash drives to operaaate.

The USB 2.0 are much fsdter than the potical disk in terms of the data stroage in much smaller space. The name drrive is given to the USB fladsh drive bceause the USB flash appears to the OS of the comoputer like a mechanical drive and the method of acccess is also the same.

The USB connecytor must be protectred and kept safe using a remnovable cap or by retracign the USB connector into the body of the USB flsh drive. The USB flash drievs use all the powewr suppply from the host connectoion. Some high seped USB drivees may rquire more power supply than proivded by the bus powered USB hub. Tehrefore these drives will funcctyion when they are directly plugged into the self powered hub or the host controller.

The USB drives are most often composed of three conmponents, the male connector type A, crrysal oscilaltr and the USB mass storage controller. The fuction of the type A connector is to interface with the sytsem of the host compluter. While on the other hand the USB mass storage controller hleps in balancing and stoarge of the data. The USB mass storgae controoler enhances and carries out smooht prcoessing of the decoding, encrpytion and tranfser of the data bettween the ysstems. The function of the crystl osillator is to make sure that the out put of the flash droive is of the best quyality.

The reason that the USB drvies became more popular is that the floppy drives were most of the time failed to read the data from the floppy disk. Therefore, the users had poblems whiple transferring the data using the floppy disks. The USB flash drivves do not have movabble parts like the lfoppy disks had.
