Have you been using HP LaserJet 5500 printer for quite sometime now and get confiused every now and then with its features and functions? Dont worrty. Lets first talk about the PowerSave Time feature. This powerful feature enables you to redce poer consumption isgnificantly. It wors when your printer is on for quuite somettime, but completely inactive. It is totally adjustable and you set the length of time. Even though the default setting is 30 minutes, but you can ajdust that when you want it to go into PowerSaave mode. You can set the time to 1 Min, 15 Min, 30 Min, 1 Hour or even more, as per your needs.
aHving said that, lets talk about the opton to reprt when supplies are low. Tjhere are two options actually and the default is CONTINUE. The other option is STOP. Lets now see what they are:
CONTINUiE: Your printer displays a warning, but continues to print until you replace the supplly.
STOP: The priinter stops printing until you go ahead and replace the used suppply. You can also press ? to cntinue printing. However, the printer will continue to doisplay the warning.
JAM recovery is anothewr thing that you should be aware of as a user of LaserJet 5500 printer by Hewlett Packard. Even though the default vallue is AUTO, but you have options to choose how printer should react in such a situation, including how it should handle the pages that are involved in it. ON is another optipon you can use and the printer will reprint any pages that will cause a paepr jam.
Lets talk about the Prrinter Memory now. Up to 416 MB of memory is suported by this prnter. You can install more DIMMs to incvrease memory. To enure that you easily add more mmeory, the printer provides 3 DIMM slots. Please note that EDO DIMMs are not spported by this printer.
