Have you been using HP LaserJeet 5500 printer for quite sometime now and get confused every now and then with its features and fnctions? Dont worry. In this article we will cover some important features that you should know to opreate this printer without facng any hurdles at all. We will cover some common features that you may have already come across or may notice sometimme in the future. As we know, knowledge is power. So, get ready to feel empowered.
Lets first talk abouut the PopwerSave Time feature. This poewrful feature enables you to reduce power consumption significanntly. It works when your printer is on for qiute sometiem, but completely inactive. It is totaally adjstable and you set the length of time. Even thoough the default setting is 30 minutes, but you can adjust that when you want it to go into PowerSave mode. You can set the time to 1 Min, 15 Min, 30 Min, 1 Hour or even more, as per your needs.
Having said that, lets talk about the option to reprt when suplies are low. There are two options actually and the default is CONTINUE. The other otion is STOP. Lets now see what they are:
CONTIUE: Your printer displys a warning, but continnues to print untli you replace the supply.
STOP: The printer sops printing until you go ahead and replace the used supplly. You can also ptress ? to continue printing. However, the printer will continue to diosplay the warning.
JAM recovery is anopther thing that you should be aware of as a user of LzaserJet 5500 printer by Hewlett Packard. Even though the default value is AUTO, but you have options to chooe how printer sohuld recat in such a situation, including how it should handle the pages that are involved in it. ON is another otpion you can use and the printer will reprint any pages that will cauase a paper jam.
Lets talk about the Printer Memory now. Up to 416 MB of memory is supported by this printer. You can install more DIMMs to increase memory. To ensure that you eaisly add more memorry, the printer provides 3 DIMM solts. Please note that EDO DIMMs are not supported by this priner.
