In these modern times, everything can be recycled and one of them is children's clothing. In the past, people would recycle their children's clothes by letting the younger ones wear them. Now, there are many ways to recycle them and not just passing them on to a younger sibling. The choices as to where children's clothing should go are numerous.
When you feel your children's clothing are just so many, sort through them and see which have been outgrown. You would be able to inspect their condition and evaluate which could be passed on to the younger kids. If there are clothes that have been stained or torn , throw those away. You can also cut these into pieces and use them as washrags. They can also be used to make clothes for your daughter's dolls if she has any. Set aside the clothes that are still useful as these can be given to other children. You can also have a garage sale and sell these there to earn extra cash.
If you do not have younger children, you can recycle your children's outfits by giving them to your nieces, nephews, neighbor's kids or to your church for other less fortunate kids to use. Give one piece of outfit to each orphan and you will see their eyes light up when they are handed a new gift.
Be a good person and donate to charitable organizations that collect use clothing. Such organizations include the Salvation Army and Goodwill. These organizations will know who will benefit with these clothes and usually they are orphans or the homeless. They need any kind of clothing whatever the size.
There are clubs in the community that recycle clothes. Join these clubs and share with fellow parents the nostalgia and excitement of parting with your children's clothing. The fulfillment of being able to help other kids and seeing your kids' clothes on other children is great.
Have an area for the clothes your kids have outgrown. This will help you immediately find them when they are ready to be given away. Remember that your junk is someone else's treasure. A homeless kid or an orphan would appreciate so much his brand new clothes which you just threw away. There are also children who have lost clothes due to a flood, fire or any calamity thus they would need even used outfits.
You can also collect all the used clothes of your children and sell them online. Set up an account with an online auction shop and advertise the clothes there. You can also go to other websites that are intended for buy and sell trading and see if you can sell them there.
Although it can be sentimental to part with clothes you saw your kids grew up in, you have to accept the fact that your children have nowhere to go but to grow. Be happy that you were able to give your kids children's clothing as this is an essential thing in life.
