The American College Testing exam or ACT is undeniably popular. It is considered to be the standardized test for all high school students in preparation for college admissions. It is a test that checks students’ knowledge of the four basic subjects. These subjects include Math, English, Reading and Science. In 2005, an essay part was added to the test to determine students’ planning capabilities. Most students prepare for the exam by taking the ACT practice test.
The ACT exam is very important because it assesses the student’s knowledge. It also measures the student’s capability to handle college subjects such as algebra, biology, logic, etc. Act exam is scheduled 6 times per year in the United States. The following are the schedules for the yearly ACT test: June, September, October, December, February and April. With this, it’s nothing but normal for students to prepare and think about several factors before taking this exam.
Students prepare for the ACT test in various ways according to their preference. They prepare for the test just like how they prepare for major exams. This simply means that they also review. Students study on the four subtest of ACT and familiarize themselves too with some general information. However, during the review period, students also need to remember some essential things.
A student must first decide when to take the test. After choosing the exam date, the student can just start reviewing with a purpose in mind. Having an uninterrupted review is very important. This way, students can recall previous lessons easily. They can also become mentally and physically prepared for the exam.
In the review period, test takers must study books and references recommended by the school. They should also train themselves in answering questions in a limited time. This is because in the actual ACT exam is time limited. 60 minutes is given for Math, 45 minutes for English and 35 minutes each for Science and Reading. Students need to practice time limits so they can answer all the questions and pass during the actual exam.
Aside from reviewing for the test, students must also watch out for their health. Being healthy is very important so that one will not be afflicted with any disease. Test takers must not go on a strict diet prior to any exam. One should nourish their brain cells properly so one can think clearly.
After finishing all reviews as well as taking the ACT practice test, one must be prepared. Remember that ACT is very important and the qualification of any student to enter college depends on their score. As much as possible, students need not be intimidated with people. They need to be relaxed during the exam.
