In the past on Blue Bloods Season 2 Episode 12 "The Job", On the way home along with his family, Danny hits a man with his car who is fleeing from a gunman, and his family gets caught in the crossfire when Danny fires his weapon in the gunman. The series follows the Irish-American Reagan class of police officers with the Ny Police Department (NYPD). Francis "Frank" Reagan (Tom Selleck) is the Police Commissioner. He was an U. S. Marine and a Vietnam seasoned before he joined this NYPD. He is a widower, and has also lost among his four grown kids - Danny, Erin, Joe, and Jamie.
