In the past on CSI: New York Season 8 Event 12, "Brooklyn Til I Die", The CSIs investigate whenever a role-playing game turns poisonous, with one player falling victim into a bona fide killer along with the other kidnapped and held for ransom.

On this week's episode title "The Ripple Effect", When the CSIs look into two seemingly unrelated demise, their separate trails of evidence cause a surprisingly connected bottom line.

Det. Mack "Mac" Taylor, a dedicated and pushed crime-scene investigator who is convinced that everything is connected and everyone carries a story, is a decorated Marine who served in Wasteland Storm and dabbled inside war photography. The job is the life; he focuses on cases until there're solved. He and his lover, Stella Bonasera, a well-traveled, well-educated detective, an orphan who flourished regardless of the system, share a passion to the job. Stella is a jack-of-all-trades possesses an unmatched desire to locate answers for the subjects of violent crimes, due in part for you to questions about her earlier.
They lead a team of experts through the gritty and kinetic town that never sleeps. The team includes Danny Messer, an investigator with an unflappable spirit along with a troubled family history, which he uses on the job as he blends their own set of hybrid life values. Messer was personally selected to partake of the team by Mac, and he attempts daily to meet that honor and liability. Sheldon Hawkes is this crime lab's former coroner, a brilliant Ph. D. who transitioned to the field team. Joining them is Don Flack, an edgy, hardcore homicide detective having a quick wit, impressive forensic insight and a long family history in police and Lindsay Monroe, a young, athletic CSI with some sort of Midwestern work ethic that's willing to roll upwards her sleeves to tackle any job and rarely hints at the dark and devastating key that originally motivated her to dedicate her life to being an investigator. Rounding out the staff is lab rat Adam Ross along with eccentric coroner Dr. Sid Hammerback.

The New York CSIs may have a different process from those in Vegas or Miami, but they are guided by the same steadfast determination. These skilled investigators follow the research as they piece collectively clues and eliminate hesitation, to ultimately crack his or her cases.

CSI: NY (Crime Picture Investigation: New York) is usually an American police procedural tv series that premiered with September 22, 2004, on CBS. The show follows the investigations of a team of NYPD forensic scientists and police as they unveil the circumstances behind mysterious and unusual deaths along with other crimes. The series was the second indirect spin-off from the particular veteran series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and also directly from CSI: Miami during an episode during which several of the CSI: NY characters made their own first appearance. Currently the show airs in Fridays at 9pm/8c about CBS; in the UK that airs on Channel A few on Saturdays at 10pm with repeats usually shown upon Five USA.

Originally, CSI: NY was produced together with the Canadian media business Alliance Atlantis. The company dissolved following third season in 2007 and all production is now done under the purview of CBS Paramount Television.
