Spartacus: Blood and Sand is definitely an American television series that will premiered on Starz on January 22, 2010. The series was inspired by the historical figure of Spartacus (performed by Andy Whitfield), a Thracian gladiator which from 73 to 71 BC led a significant slave uprising against this Roman Republic. Executive producers Steven Utes. DeKnight and Robert Tapert dedicated to structuring the events connected with Spartacus' obscure early life leading up to the beginning of historic records. The show has been rated TV-MA for artwork violence, strong sexual content, and coarse language.
The show was initially renewed for the second season, but production was detained because Whitfield was informed they have early-stage non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
