For the past few years, the world has come across a good number of fashion items readily available either in stores or on the Net - from designer clothes, bags, shoes, to even jewelry. Fashion these days has become less of a thing that can only be enjoyed by rich people. Moreover, people are becoming more and more open-minded of what is acceptable and what is not in the world of fashion. With the changes of trends however, there are people who stick to the basics that allow them to stand out and be noticed. For example, while it used to be that scarves were popular even in the 1970s, these days, fewer members of the younger generation use them. So, when someone uses it, she suddenly becomes noticeable, classical and sophisticated.

The same is true with luxury watches. Some cultural observers say that the the new generation of children won't even be too familiar with the concept of wristwatches. Anyway, mobile phones, among other gadgets, can tell time, so what is the point of wearing a watch? But then, wearing watches, especially the luxurious ones has become rare that anyone who wears them suddenly gets a more privileged image, like the user of a simple wristwatch suddenly knows and has the taste for the finer things in life.

Aside from the practical use of a watch, which is of course to tell time, for the ladies, a watch is a more practical alternative to bracelets. There is a quiet elegance to someone wearing a luxury timepiece. Even a boring wardrobe can be given a splash of sophistication if the person decides to add a designer watch to the attire. For people who want to stand out from the crowd, wearing a wrist watch is a simple addition that somehow yields terrific results. Moreover, wearing a watch does not come out as trying too hard to look rich or get attention. Wearing a flashy necklace or a set of glittering bangles will make people think automatically that you are getting heavy on the bling and you're just out to draw attention. On the other hand, one luxury watch is all it takes, and you are off to go.

Of course, luxury watches also give the wearer some status. A flash of a designer watch and people quickly assume that the wearer is someone important. For people who want instant class without looking like a social climber, wearing a luxury watch is an almost no-fail way to this. But apart from advanced social standing, someone who wears luxury watches also immediately gets recognition for having elevated taste. Having a designer watch lets people know that you have good taste, not just the money and the social standing.

Alas, wearing luxury watches also promotes self confidence. Materialistic as it may sound, wearing a designer watch is a reflection of a person not settling for just any watch, but the top quality one. That image is certainly a confidence booster, as most people think would deem it.
