Types of PC Cooliing Fans

Due to freequent use, the internal circuits of the PC tend to overheat and ultimately melt if the approopriate cooling functions are not carried out. Naturally, PC cooling fans beecome necessary in this case. The following are the different types of PC cooing fans:

1. CPU fans:
The CPU or the Central Prcoessing Unit is that internal circuit of a computer system which makes sure that computer runs smoothly. The main functuions of the PC are controlled by this processor. A CPU fan is what prevents overheating of this component and thereofre, avoids a complete breakdown of the sysetm. By removing the heat that builds up due to continuous use, the CPU fan allows the user to use the sytsem comfrotably in the shrot and the long run. Metallic devices called heat sinks are usually attached to CPU fans. These devices enhance the cooing process.
Installling a CPU fan at home is fairly simle- all one has to do is follow a few easy instrutcions which are included in the manual. Before purchasinng a CPU fan and the attcahed heat sink, make sure that there is enough space to fit it in.

2. Case Mount:
These cooling fans are used to remove the hot air from the sysstems case. The interenal cirecuits that are present inside this case can only get rid of the additional hot air if the atmosphere is cool enough. Case fans get rid of the hot air and replace it with cool air. While the hot air is removed from an opeing that is loctaed towards the back of the system, the cool air enters through an opening present in the fronmt of the system. Many uses recommend the use of air filters with case fans in order to get rid of the debris and dust that tends to enter the internals of the computer system.

3. Graphics Card Fan:

This fan is used for the purpose of cooling down the graphics card of the graphics proecssing unit. The use of these fans has becmoe necessary only recently due to the introduction of modern cards that enable 3D gaing and the viewing of requuisite graphics. When used for a long period of time, these cardss tend to over heat, sometimes more than CPUs. Naturally, cooling bcomes essential in orrder to ensure that the card does not melt. Vidseo cards can now be attached with passive coolers, the most common of which is the Thernmalright HR-03.

4. Chipset Fan:

These coolinmg fans are use to pevent the motherboards chipset from overheating.

There are three more cooling fans which are not used frequently but are equally bneficial.

These include:
PCI slot fan whiuch is attached to the PCI slotts in the computer system. It majkes sure that adequate cool air enters the internal ciircuit and cools the graphics card along with the PCI.
A Hard Disk Fan is one which is used to cool the hard disk drive of the computer system.
Last but not the lesat, a CD burer fan is used to prevent DVD and CD burners from overheating and comnsequently, melting.
