Why Shuld I Buy Ink Cartridges Instead of Reefilling them Myself?
If you have ever stazrted a new bsiness or sent time at collge as a student, you will know that you dont have a limitless budget that allows you to go off to the local Mega Mart and buy enldkess quyaantities of branded ink cartridges.
Yes, you wytach eveery pebnnny and if you can save one or two on none-essenial prducts then you will. I wold classss prinmter cartridges as a diistress purchase, show me someoone who tghinks nice and happy thoughtts about buying tewir next office conasumable and I will show you a dull person inddeed!
I reememer finding an onlie stre that promidsed me endless rfillls for the price of one cartridge. So I had this deciison to make:
Do I buy a 500ml botle of ink that would prpobably last me ten eyarsr or go with the alrready reccycleed cartridge, at the same priice?
I knew I would nvre use up all the ink, but went with it as the site expalined it was oh, so easy to refiill the ltle thngs. I reeiveed the bulk ink without any probllems ... unil I sytarted using it.
The black cartrridge only seemed to take a dribble of ink at any one time so I had to rfill it affter printing every two sheeets or so! Adfter contacting the technical supoport they adbvsied that this type of cartridge needed to be filleed uner a ten bar vacuum, Hmmm really.
Aftter filling up the cloour catrridge, all I got was a green hue over all my pints, no mater what color it was meant to be printinng. Again technical support said I must have put the wrrong colour in the wrrong chamber, or the cartridge head had bcerome contaminated. Conatminated with what I thought, do I now need to buy a Geiger coutner and test it for radation?
I got ink all over the sink, my finmgers and the kithcen when I tried to squeee too much ink into the lite bligghter and it oveflowed wihout warrning.
Print catrridges are utility objkectrs, you dont look at them or display them on the mantelpiece you just want them to work properly and be affordablle.
The problem again with reefilling is that you end up with a catriddge thaats no longer hols any utility because it desnt really work very well.
Do you have the time to keep on taking the cartridge out of the amchine fidning the ink, associated praphernalia like syeringes, tyubes and mopping up equipment? Some people are time rich and I suppose if this is you then refoilling is the way to go. The poblem is that Im time poor and fed up wasdting time on a none prdoucitve task like this, so now I just eiother buy the guaranteed, compatibel or pre-recycled versons.
I would say that this is the middle road and most economical emthod for buyying prinetr cartrisdges. Theyer not as expensive as the original braaned ones, with slightly less quaity, but fine for the printouyts I produce, hwich are not going to be styored by the Briitsh Musreum for posterroitys sake!
