As I came home from university for the Thanksgiving holidays, I was really surprised to hear that he had gone through a Laser eye surgery for his vision. It came to my attention quickly, as he was wearing shades on a rainy Maryland afternoon. Apparently one of the attainable temporary unwanted side effects with the Lasik process is usually a sensitivity to light. Following talking with him privately, he hadn't really had any of the negative effects that his Laser eye primary care provider had described, but was having a wonderful time making the family think that he did. What a character.
Granddad is 1 who generally enjoys new gadgets, people's sympathy, plus the opportunity to tell a different story to any individual willing to listen. It almost seems that the Lasik procedure was customised for him, specially because his Lasik eye operation was essentially trouble free. As well as the sunglasses, the doctor that performed his Lasik procedure gave Granddad a pair of goggles to put on at night so that he wouldn't rub his eyes in his sleep. Granddad also wore them at breakfast and for many meals, saying that a possible squirt inside the eye from a grapefruit or wine glass was not permitted in the Lasik eye manual. I should mention that we do not ordinarily drink wine, and that he was not given a Lasik eye manual.
Two of the more common temporary unwanted effects following Lasik eye medical procedure are sensitivity to light or to glare, specially at night, and some possibility of fluctuating vision for many days right after the Laser eye process. I have in no way noticed a man milk so much out of a mixture of one or each of these signs and symptoms, although he never had either 1.
He could not clear dishes from the table for the reason that his fluctuating vision may possibly have him drop the plates, and he couldn't drive to the convenience store during the night since... well, you get the drift. I do wonder why I was told the true story of his Lasik procedure, but I suppose a secret partner makes the stories all the sweeter.
The fact is, the only actual post Lasik symptom that he basically had was dry eyes, and he had eye drops for that. As it turned out, he required to obtain a second type of eye drops from his Laser eye personal physician because he needed a thicker prescription to make it through the night comfortably. Granddad was surprised that he seemed to become a model Lasik eye patient at his age, even though his physician mentioned he had performed numerous pretty successful Laser eye surgeries for customers into their seventies, and also a couple of in their 80's.
I am shocked that Granddad bothered to search into a Lasik eye procedure, for I in no way noticed that he had an issue with his glasses. He says it was mainly because Lasik eye surgery would reveal the handsome man he is a lot more clearly to the ladies, even though he has been a widower for a dozen years and seemed alright with that.
He did say although that the clarity of vision that the Lasik process gave him is improved than any he has had in more than thirty years. Possibly that is true, for my post Lasik eye grandfather is far more thinking about items and much more active than I've seen him within the last couple of years. Probably Laser eye surgery is really a part of that.
