A well-made site will have just about everything taken care of including all those annoying little details that can sometimes cause people to leave. When all those important little details have problems, then it detracts from the user experience which is never what you want to see. Take your links for example, sometimes they can break for whatever reason, and so you just need to create the habit of checking them on a regular basis.
Hey, that has happened to us when we tried to use a link and it was not working, and yes it is very annoying to us. You simply must keep things like this to a minimum so you do not adversely impact your readers. We think it is a natural reaction to be curious about each site and who created it, etc. We are not sure why IM marketers do not want to say who they are, but there are enough people out there who are like that. This does attract attention from your target audience but it fails to build trust. You need to come out in the open and actually show your visitors that you've got an identity that you're not afraid to reveal. Win the confidence of your visitors by giving them something that will stop the doubts cropping up in their minds. The identity that you reveal to your visitors will actually help you garner more sales because people buy only from those sites that they know isn't shady or looks scammy.
Unfortunately, scam operations have become synonymous with online marketing and/or internet marketing. People are so paranoid anymore that they can jump the gun and level an accusation if you look at them funny.
People can get a warm fuzzy about you if there is less hype and they see recognizable names such as your payment processor, etc. If you're honest in your approach then you'll find that your visitors are automatically attracted to your offer.
Creating a sense of trust in your business site takes time and hard work, and that is why so many have a hard time with it, maybe. So go ahead and take control of your website, and your sales.
