Europe's fourth largest carrier, Turkish Airlines has been moving very aggressively forward to emerge as an airline industry leader. Turkish Airlines flies to world locations like Asia, Europe, North America, South America and is taking action to provide service in varied locations throughout Africa. This company has been flying the skies for almost 80 years. Its story contains plenty of ups and downs. However, the most important aspect for any business, and perhaps especially an airline, is they not only still exist but are stronger than they have ever been.

Turkish Airlines was the recipient of the "Market Leadership Award 2011", given by Air Transport World, a leading magazine within the aviation industry. The internationally recognized award was presented to airline officials in a ceremony held in Washington D.C.

As we all know, the past number of years have been an exceedingly challenging environment for just about all businesses around the world. Yet the airline industry is notorious for following the general movement of the global economy. And yes Turkish Airlines consistently showed profitable operating balances throughout difficult years, which could be seen as a testimony to their powerful marketing and innovative management. Negotiations between the English soccer team, Manchester United, and Turkish Airlines were finalized in October 2010 which resulted in a three-year contract. Manchester United will work with Turkish Airlines for a high tech TV commercial that will introduce the airlines' new idea for business class travel. Both organizations consider this to be an exciting period for a wide range of reasons. The idea of the new series of commercials is for them to feature some of the top players having a great time while traveling business class with Turkish Airlines.

Comfort Class is a revolutionary travel concept developed by Turkish Airlines. This is a style of travel that is only available on the airline's fleet of Boeing 777s. The class is a revolutionary concept in comfortable flying as the seats are all nearly 4 feet wide. Passengers basically have four feet of seat available to them for themselves and anything else they have with them on the flight. It is important to note that Boeing 777 airplanes are large aircraft and are suited to long flights. If you are a Turkish Airlines Miles and Smiles card owner, then you can convert any miles you have accrued into a seat in Comfort Class. Turkish Airlines has a long history that was marked by many difficulties in the earlier years. There are so many challenges airlines have to resolve that this is not surprising. All levels of this airline company have been subjected to changes. However, just as with individuals, this company learned from past mistakes and has emerged as a very strong and adaptable company. This article has provided a quick glimpse at some of the most exciting times and events for Turkish Airlines.
