Who is Mona Lisa? I am positive everybody knows who she was and who the painter was - obviously, Leonardo da Vinci. The work of art shows a mystical woman looking at the viewer. It's also said that when you move across the room while looking into her eyes, those will follow you. Now, that is the authentic mystery.

Here are some interesting facts about Mona Lisa that you might just read for the first time:

Who is the lady and is Mona Lisa her real name? There are actually still discussions of her true identity. Some says it truly is Da Vinci in a female form. Some proclaims it truly is his lover and the smile is intended for him. But the most commonly belief is that she is Lisa Gherardini, born in 1479, mother of two children. The reason why she was painted by Da Vinci is still unknown.

There are many versions on the logic behind why Mona Lisa does not have eye brows. It was asserted that it was accidentally removed by the curator when they had been restoring the artwork. And there had been also debates that given that Da Vinci has an obsessive-compulsive disorder he was not able to finish off the portrait. Well, i think nobody will ever know the actual explanation.

Mona Lisa is not the real name of the art work. It was Monna Lisa, an italian name for Madonna, meaning "My Lady". Can you think it? One of one of the most well-known oil painting's name is really a misspelling?

The original painting has a minor patch of damage near her left elbow. In 1956, for unknown motive, a man named Ugo Ungaza threw a rock at the painting and thus creating the little damage.

Mona Lisa artwork turned so preferred because partially it created news when it was stolen from Louvre Museum in Paris by a worker in 1911 - in broad daylight. But it was recovered just after about 2 years. The painting is now back in Louvre Museum. It is inside a bullet proof glass which was developed exclusively for the portrait and is in a room that's climate controlled environment. Simply because it's regarded as invaluable, it can't be insured todate.

These days, there are various oil painting reproductions becoming done - and it is possible to find a lot of on-line. And as i have seen, numerous has been very much alike the original. Why not, if you can't have the original, you can still get the second best, isn't it?
