Deepak Kamani believes that community programs should be conducted to motivate the youth and these contribute to unity and peace. Recently the Kamani Foundation under the able guidance of Deepak Kamani conducted an extensive awareness program on “Minimizing Environment Pollution”. Deepak Kamani truly believes that all types of environment pollution like air, water, soil, noise and light damage the environment and steps should prevent all possible activities that endanger the fragile ecosystem.
Air pollution was taken up as a major topic to create awareness by Deepak Kamani with the help of the Kamani Foundation. Deepak Kamani is disturbed by the fact that the major cause of asthma, lung cancer, allergies and various breathing problems is none other than air pollution. Reducing vehicle-related pollution can go a long way in keeping the air fresh and clean, feels Deepak Kamani.
“Minimizing Environment Pollution” initiative taken up by Deepak Kamani was liked by everyone as it highlighted the bad effects of pollution on our environment and in turn us. The nearby schools in Kumarakom benefitted a lot through this as Deepak Kamani planted trees as part of his initiative through the Foundation. This speaks a lot about Deepak Kamani who inspite of being a businessman wants to create awareness among children and people residing in surrounding areas about the benefits of taking care of our environment.
Plants are the generators of life’s essential element called Oxygen and provide shade and a cooling effect on the surrounding, says Deepak Kamani. Areas near the school were especially selected by the Foundation under Deepak Kamani so that trees would make the environment conducive to the well being of the students and people around. Deepak Kamani feels that this is just the beginning and ideally wishes that more and more people and the Foundation too would take an active interest to ensure a clean and pollution free environment.
Deepak Kamani helped the local self government in its project of making the Kumarakom canal free from garbage and other pollutants. The Kumarakom Canal holds the Kumarakom Boat Race every year in the month of August-September on the occasion of Onam and this was a time limit that was successfully managed by the Kamani Foundation headed by Deepak Kamani.
Water is essential to all living beings and the cleaning of the Canal in Kumarakom was of particular interest to Deepak Kamani as it is the source of livelihood and drinking water for the people. Deepak Kamani is a highly benevolent soul and feels that cleaning the canal would be a huge service to the people of Kumarakom. If more people from the Corporate world take up responsibility like Deepak Kamani it would serve different communities really well.
